More than 200 students and faculty at Dunn Elementary joined associates of FastPark in planting 10 new trees at the school Friday, Oct. 23. FastPark planned this event to enhance the environment around the school by joining Trees For Houston, the nonprofit organization dedicated to planting, promoting and protecting trees, in planting trees in celebration of its new parking facility, FastPark2, serving George Bush Intercontinental Airport. FastPark2, which opened earlier this summer at 6655 Will Clayton Parkway, is near the Highway 59 entrance to Bush Intercontinental. The new parking facility, with all covered parking and new comfortable shuttle buses, expands the operations of FastPark & Relax, which also has a location on Greens Road serving the Beltway 8 entrance to the airport. | FastPark employees work with Dunn fourth graders to plant 10 trees | “Houston is a great city for FastPark. We are thrilled to expand our operations to serve both main entrances to the airport,” said Melanie Chavez, chief marketing officer for Fast Park. The day-long celebration, which is highlighted by the tree planting at Dunn Elementary, also will include two separate ribbon cutting ceremonies at the FastPark2 facility. “The number of green initiatives the city of Houston and its residents support every year is amazing,” said Chavez. “We wanted to join the city’s work and support Dunn Elementary’s efforts to beautify its grounds for students.” The tree planting, which begins at 1:30 p.m. at Dunn Elementary, is a gift to the community from FastPark. Members of Trees For Houston also will participate in the planting. Fourth grade students from Dunn will be on hand to assist. Customers at FastPark2 on Oct. 23 received a free plantable seed card. The paper business card contains wild flower seeds and can be planted in a small vase or window planter. The FastPark2 facility is located at a property once operated by Alright Parking. Besides upgrading shuttles and covering all the parking spaces, Fast Park made significant maintenance and aesthetic upgrades to the property. Houston customers also can now sign up for the company’s Relax for Rewards loyalty program which includes discounted parking at both locations; and enjoy FastPark standard amenities such as free newspapers upon entry (Mon. through Fri.), bottled water upon exit, express exit convenience and complimentary luggage assistance. FastPark is one of the largest off-site airport parking companies in the United States. It operates 16 facilities throughout the U.S. FastPark shuttles operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each facility provides complimentary jump starts and flat-tire assistance as well as cashier greeters that instruct travelers where to park for speedy shuttle pick up. |
